Official Lilbits Customer Review
We asked a lovely customer who always shares her pics to us to do a review on one of our new items! The Number Pebbles Sum building Set!
“We have been testing the sum building pebbles. I was really interested in them because I’ve been looking for more eco-friendly educational toy alternatives and these seemed a great idea. They come in a nice little cardboard packaging too which is a bonus because we’ve been trying to cut down on our plastic usage. They are solid, have a slight weight to them but not too heavy at all, smooth to the touch and a great size for malleable play and little hands. We’ve tested them out in a variety of different activities and they are very versatile and compliment some of our other number resources we already have perfectly. We used them for activities such as: ordering, counting, number recognition, simple number calculations and we also used them with playdough and found they are easy to wash in warm water. As the numbers are engraved into them, they print well into playdough, granted the numbers imprint backwards (who doesn’t like a bit of an extra challenge?!) but that didn’t phase my 4 year old at all and she was still able to match the imprinted number with the right pebble. She liked to run her finger over the engraved numbers before she wrote the number down too which I think will help her with her number formation. My 22month old also loved using them to make imprints on the playdough. He also loved carrying them around, lining them up and he tried to stack them but, because they’re smooth, they didn’t stack very well and just slid off each other which I think is probably my only disappointment with them as stacking is a much loved activity in our house but I suppose that’s not what they were really made for! Overall, I’m happy we purchased them and can see them being a great asset to our more educational resources and clearly in loose parts play for my youngest”. Emma
